Among the confirmed maps, the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda stands out as the latest addition. In the Marvel Comics universe, Wakanda is recognized as the most technologically advanced nation on Earth, led by T’Challa and Shuri, who are pioneers in Vibranium-based advancements. Marvel Rivals expands on this narrative, highlighting the empire’s almost otherworldly splendor and transforming it into a destructible arena for its superpowered gameplay.
When the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda was unveiled, each area was depicted with a blend of ancient architecture and cutting-edge technology. Notably, the inclusion of this map increases the total number of maps in the game to five, indicating that at least three additional maps remain unconfirmed. At least one of these will be tailored for Conquest, which serves as Marvel Rivals’ interpretation of Team Deathmatch.
Similar to the maps set in Tokyo 2099 and Yggsgard, more Wakandan-themed maps may be added to Marvel Rivals. Whether this will occur in the initial seasons is yet to be determined. Should this take place, players can anticipate the introduction of a different game mode, such as Convoy, Conquest, or Convergence.
